Orange Turmeric Detox Smoothie

by | Apr 17, 2018 | Beverages, Detox

This Orange Turmeric Detox Smoothie is comforting, creamy and zesty with a punch of spice from ginger and turmeric, two excellent spices for supporting our detoxification.

This smoothie came about when I was trying to come up with a smoothie that could be as orange in colour as possible. Naturally, carrots, oranges, and turmeric came to mind, and after I blended it all up (with a few other star ingredients) the most delicious smoothie was created. Seriously – this might be the best smoothie I’ve ever created!

This Orange Turmeric Detox Smoothie has the most unique flavours that mesh together so perfectly. It’s comforting, creamy and zesty with a tiny punch of spice from ginger and turmeric, two excellent spices for detox:

  • Turmeric: a potent anti-inflammatory root that’s used for a variety of inflammatory conditions and liver support
  • Ginger: a root traditionally used for stimulating and supporting digestion, reducing nausea and upset stomach, and reducing constipation.

    Dear Meghan,
Today I tried the orange and turmeric smoothie, which I thought was GREAT!!!! I could have that every day of the week. I think all the flavours go together really well. Since I very, very rarely drink, don’t smoke and generally try my level best to eat healthily I am unsure whether I really need to detox, but it doesn’t matter because what I am looking for is finding things that are healthy AND delicious because I feel that’s the only way to I can stick to eating healthily.
This drink certainly meets the goal! Thank you very much for sharing!

Can this smoothie use as a meal replacement like dinner

Hi Nicole! Generally speaking, no, I wouldn’t use this smoothie as a meal replacement as it isn’t a complete/comprehensive supply of nutrients, like protein.

Delicious!! My Husband and 14 y/o loved it as well. I eased them into it by trying 1/8 turmeric first. Will try the other two recipes as well. Thanks!!

So easy to make and tastes so full of flavor. I actually swapped the orange for a red grapefruit once or twice as I ran out of oranges and I found that really delicious too. I love Meghan’s recipes! Thanks for sharing x
