Strawberry Banana Smoothie

by | Apr 29, 2019 | Beverages, Breakfast

This Strawberry Banana Smoothie is your classic, no-fuss fruit smoothie. Made with only 3 simple ingredients, this is sure to become a staple recipe in your kitchen.

Don’t get me wrong — I love a good green smoothie loaded with all the fixings. Spinach, hemp seeds, berries, avocado, you name it. Anything and everything we can possibly fill up our blenders to create a nutritional powerhouse in a glass. But sometimes I just want a simple fruit smoothie, and this is the perfect recipe for just that.

All you need for this Strawberry Banana Smoothie is:

  • Banana
  • Frozen strawberries
  • Non-dairy milk (such as coconut or almond)

How to Make a Strawberry Banana Smoothie

This smoothie is made with only 3 ingredients (hooray!) although there are a couple extras you can add in if you want to give it a little boost. I sometimes like adding in a scoop of collagen peptides for extra protein or coconut yogurt for some probiotics and healthy fats. If I’m not making my own homemade coconut yogurt, I like the brands Silk and President’s Choice from the grocery store.

I personally like my smoothies very rich and creamy so I like using a lesser amount of milk, but you can add in more or less to your desired consistency! The type of milk you use will alter the flavour of this recipe slightly, but that’s not a bad thing — use whichever is your favourite. A few of my favourite brands of non-dairy milk include Coconut Dream and Almond Breeze (their almond coconut blend is lovely). I always choose unsweetened.

You can add in a spoonful of honey, maple syrup, or a medjool date, but I like this recipe as-is with the natural sweetness from the bananas and strawberries.

SUPER yummy & simple to make! I do wish it was a tad sweeter… but maybe my freshly frozen strawberries were not as sweet as they could have been. Oh well, still great!!

Hi Trinity! If you’d like, try adding a medjool date or a spoonful of honey! (or riper fruit) 🙂 xx
