After coming down with a sore throat a couple weeks ago, I was craving lemon and ginger – two of the best things to help soothe a scratchy throat and boost the immune system! Pears are in season right now here in Ontario, so I paired (…paired the pear…ha!) with lemon and ginger to create the ultimate immune boosting smoothie. It’s so fresh and zesty, your immune system and throat will love it.
Lemon Ginger Immune-Boosting Smoothie
A zesty smoothie full of Vitamin C rich lemon and ginger to soothe your throat and boost your immune system.
- 1 pear, cored
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1/2 inch chunk fresh ginger, peeled
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1-2 Swiss chard or kale leaves
- 1/2 cup water add more water for thinner consistency
Add all ingredients to blender and blend for 30-60 seconds. Transfer to glass and enjoy!
Add in 2 ice cubes for a colder smoothie.
