I don’t drink regular cow’s milk, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have it in other ways! 😉 If you’re dairy-free as well, then you’ll love how not only delicious this Chocolate Hemp Milk is, but how freaking EASY it is to whip up.

It’s not only a great alternative to classic chocolate milk that you’d get at the store (which usually contain copious amounts of sugar and often added flavour) but it’s a great source of plant-based protein and healthy fats, thanks to my favourite ingredient: hemp seeds.
Why I Love Hemp Seeds
Hemp seeds are an all-around excellent whole food. They contain omega-3 fatty acids which are essential for healthy brain, skin and joints, and combating inflammation. They’re also a great seed for providing a boost of protein to almost any meal.
I regularly add a large spoonful to my smoothies and they’re the star in today’s recipe because they blend up so easily.
Unlike other nut milks that require soaking and straining, hemp seeds are soft, don’t require soaking, and generally don’t require any straining depending on your blender. In my opinion, they’re an absolute pantry staple.
Chocolate Hemp Milk
A super quick, creamy and dairy-free chocolate milk recipe that takes less than a minute to make.
- 2 cups water
- 4 tbsp hemp seeds
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
Add all ingredients to blender and blend on high until completely smooth, about 10-30 seconds depending on blender.
Enjoy immediately and store extras in jar for up to 5 days.
